The name's Selena.
I am an interaction and visual communications designer based in Brisbane, Australia. The core of my design beliefs revolves around innovation and inclusivity to ensure those I work with are able to leverage on trends whilst broadening their reach by putting people first.
The world of design has always been a major part of my life having always been involved with creative pursuits. I am constantly inspired by the world around me, its intricacies where design itself is veiled over the daily interactions we make in our lives. Traditional art eventually transitioned into a love for digital mediums with sparked my love for graphic design. I originally came from a science-oriented degree which allowed me to branch off into the world of interaction design, applying logic-based thinking in place of pure aesthetic decisions. I am currently open to any field with the intention of exploring my capabilities by gaining new skills, connections, and insights along the way to improve my own design direction. I aim to hone my attention to detail by understanding the relationship between how my design decisions affect the usability of the design, positively or negatively.
I want to create a design that moves with the tide but does not sink those who fail to move with it. Through a blend of functionality, and emotional and visual appeal I intend to design for the future and it is ultimately at the heart of what I do. As such it is brands and clientele with beliefs that align with mine that intrigue me, creating a design that pursues our mutual interests and can be used timelessly.
