1.0 Context

Problem Statement

The client, an overseas financial services company, approached us to modernize their outdated multi-account management platform. The existing system heavily relied on users contacting customer support to resolve issues, which created bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and user frustration. Additionally, the platform lacked transparency in tracking and managing funds across multiple accounts, leaving users uncertain about their balances, transaction histories, and the allocation of their funds.

This lack of clarity and autonomy not only eroded user trust but also failed to meet the evolving expectations of tech-savvy customers who demand streamlined, self-sufficient solutions. Our task was to upgrade the platform with a modernized, user-friendly interface and features that provided real-time fund visibility, seamless transfers, and actionable financial insights, ultimately empowering users with greater control over their finances.

2.0 Designing

Concept Building

To reimagine our team drew inspiration from native financial solutions in Australia, particularly from leaders like ANZ and CommBank. We conducted extensive research and workshops to analyze their seamless, user-centric banking experiences. This exploration highlighted key functions such as real-time account overviews, streamlined fund transfers, and intuitive interfaces—features we aimed to adapt and refine for the client’s platform.

Workshops with our design team and market research into the native users in the client’s country provided critical insights into cultural and operational expectations. This collaborative process ensured that our design maintained the original functionality the client valued while aligning with modern banking standards. By bridging the gap between Australian market innovations and the client’s native user needs, we delivered a product that was both globally inspired and locally effective.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

The initial wireframing process focused on identifying the core features required to meet the client’s objectives. Key functionalities included a trending/explore page to highlight popular and newly added games, and dedicated studio pages showcasing each developer’s catalog of games.

This split into two pages allowed for better user navigation and content discoverability. The trending/explore page served as the platform’s main hub, featuring curated game lists and spotlighting engaging content, while the studio pages provided an organized space for users to explore the games of individual developers in greater detail.

Userflow

To ensure an intuitive user experience, we mapped out clear user flows that outlined the path from discovering games on the trending/explore page to exploring individual studio catalogs. This helped streamline navigation, ensuring users could easily access content, make token-based purchases, and engage with the platform's features with minimal friction.

Design System

To ensure consistency and scalability, we developed a comprehensive design system tailored to the entire app. The system encompassed foundational elements like typography, color palettes, and iconography, all carefully selected to reflect the client’s brand identity while ensuring accessibility for a broad user base.

Refinement

The refinement process involved regular user testing sessions, where feedback from native users helped us adjust interactions, address pain points, and optimize workflows. This iterative approach ensured that the final design system balanced modern aesthetics, functional usability, and the transparency the client sought for their platform.
